This series functions to document policies and actions of the division. It consists of administrative files of the Civil Division of the Alabama Attorney General's Office between 1975 and 1992. The bulk of the series covers the years 1984 through 1989 and documents the division's activities under Chief Assistant Attorney General Walter S. Turner. Included are proposals to file, defend or settle civil actions; case status reports; briefs; dockets; agenda, minutes and reports of the department's Personnel Advisory Committee (PAC); correspondence; memoranda; notes; clippings; and reports concerning agency policy, procedural precedents, organization, program development and budgetary concerns. The series is arranged alphabetically by subject.
